The group caters for people in Abuja with interests and/or practical experience in Google technology including but not limited to IT, consumer, business and education.
The group is aimed at bringing together Google Technology enthusiasts to share and learn from their skills and experiences to create effective systems and solve compelling problems using Google Technologies.
We believe that majority of the 10+ million internet users in Nigeria just know Google as a search engine and free Email provider. They don't know that Google search engine can make conversions, give you definitions, make calculations, or give you information about the weather. They are not aware that you can collaborate and share with Google docs, organize your favorite reading items with Google reader, or find a location with Google maps.
Schools/Institutions don't know that they can use Google Apps Education edition to share information and ideas more easily and researchers are not aware that Google Scholar can improve their research productivity.
With the launch of Google SMS search in the country, those without internet access can as well find information through their mobile and even buy and sell with the recent launch of Google Trader.
Very small percentage of the Nigerian populace know about all these opportunities, that is why the group would also focus on general consumers and enlighten them on how to become more efficient in their daily lives by making maximum use of Google technologies.
